This was the first track we wrote together, back in September 2019 in a small studio just by London Fields. It was originally one long jam, which we then structured into the track we have now. We held onto the demo right up to Summer 2020, when we decided it was finally time to launch Goodvibes Sound.

We did the video that same summer with our filmmaker pal Oana, filmed in Alex's back garden in London. It was the first time either of us had truly been on camera, so we set everything up with the backdrop and got stuck in. We ended up filming two days in the garden. The prevailing memory is of a freezing afternoon in the paddling pool, drinking too many piña coladas and messing around without any structured idea of what we wanted to end up with.

On release day, at the end of August that year, we bundled into a car with Oana, and headed to Whitstable, a small seaside town near London. We felt that we couldn't release a track called Beachside Living without some actual footage of a beach. What we ended up with was far from our imagination of a classic Californian beach - grey clouds, light rain and an even greyer beach. Oana took one long shot of us in the water, which months later we realised would be ideal for a lyric video.
